How can we help you?

Terug

What should I do when my tram or bus is approaching? Or how do I show the driver that I want to board?

Make it clear that you want to board
This lets the driver know that you want to ride and allows them to stop in time and safely.

What can you do?

  • Be at the stop on time.
  • Stand visibly near the stop sign or in the boarding area.
  • Clearly raise your hand and keep it up for a moment.

Why is this necessary?
Our drivers have to pay attention to many things at once: traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, and the schedule. Not everyone at the stop actually wants to board.
By raising your hand, you clearly show your intention. This increases safety and helps the driver to stop properly.

Why does my bus or tram sometimes pass me by?

That is frustrating, but it usually has to do with safety, visibility, or the situation on the road.

Common reasons:

  • You were not visible to the driver.
  • Safe stopping was no longer possible due to heavy traffic or a long braking distance.
  • The driver saw you too late.
  • The vehicle was full.
