Can I still exchange my ticket on a magnetic card?

Our tickets have been on an electronic card rather than a magnetic card since 1 October 2022. These old magnetic cards can no longer be used on our vehicles.

You can recognise the old magnetic card by the black magnetic strip:


If you still have such a card, you can use it as a discount when buying a new ticket on electronic card or have it converted into rides.

  • To do this, stop by one of our Lijnwinkels or
  • Send us a photo of the magnetic card cut in half via the contact form
    • Attention: the residual value must be clearly legible on the back of the card
    • If the residual value is not legible, send the card by post to:

      De Lijn Customer Service
      Crutzenstraat 5
      3500 Hasselt.

      We need the following information:
    • the card
    • your name and address
    • request for exchange
