How can we help you?

Why does it seem like my contactless payment was charged twice?

Depending on your payment card, we reserve the value of one trip for each ride.

A reservation is not the same as the payment for your ticket.

We report the costs of your completed trips to your bank overnight. The payment is then processed through your bank, which can take a few days.

This means that sometimes you will see both a reservation and a payment on your bank statement. The amount of the reservation is not a payment and will be released.

Sometimes a reservation can remain pending for 5 days or more.  We have no control over this; the bank must release the reservation(s).

Your reservation may appear differently depending on your bank:

  • You see a reservation for the value of one trip
  • The available balance is temporarily reduced by the value of one trip
  • It appears as if the value of one trip has been deducted from your account. This amount, minus the total of your payable trips, seems to be refunded the next day.
  • You see no reservation

The payment for your ticket:

  • Debit card? It can take up to 3 business days for the amount of your trip(s) to be deducted from your account. The exact timing varies from bank to bank.
  • Credit card? You will find the cost of your trip(s) on your monthly statement. The amount of your trip is credited along with your other payments.
  • Prepaid card? The amount is deducted from your balance after 1 or more days. The exact timing varies from bank to bank.

Can I check my contactless payments?

Why do we reserve an amount?

We do this to reduce the risk that a trip would not be paid for. We can only charge trips at the end of the day. And because we do not know how much someone travels throughout the day, the amount equal to one trip's value is reserved with each trip of the day. We do this every day. At the end of the day, the reservation is reversed.
