Yes, with a valid De Lijn subscription you can temporarily use the train for free during the works, if you meet the following conditions:
- You have a valid subscription on April 4, 2026 and you maintain it uninterrupted throughout the renovation works.
- You only travel between the NMBS stations Antwerp-Linkeroever, Antwerp-South, Antwerp-Berchem, and Antwerp Central.
- Student bus passes are not eligible.
Your De Lijn subscription, on MOBIB card or in the app, is NOT a valid travel ticket on the train. You must apply for the NMBS subscription.
How to apply?
- Fill in the application form before May 31, 2026 if you meet the conditions.
- If you apply before April 20, you will receive your voucher code by email one week before the start of the works from NMBS. If you apply later, you will receive the voucher in the same week.
- You can redeem this voucher in the NMBS app for a digital Flex 120 subscription.
You find and use the subscription via the NMBS app.
Your NMBS subscription is valid for a maximum of 1 year. We reserve the right to terminate this subscription once the metro tunnel is reopened.

You can also travel the route with a ticket. A ticket for the Antwerp zone at the NMBS costs €2.60 one way.
