How does the 'Follow your trip feature' with stop alert work in the app?

  1. Click on ‘More’ in the app.
  2. Then click on 'Follow your trip'.
  3. Turn on your bluetooth and allow us to use it.
  4. Then the screen ‘Which line are you on?’ appears. Here you see an overview of all buses and trams within 100 meters.
  5. Choose your bus/tram.
  6. Follow your entire trip in real time and know how far you are from the next stops, so you get off on time.
  7. Activate stop alert? Click on the bell icon next to the stop in the app. You will receive a notification one stop in advance. This way you know exactly where and when to get off.

Don’t see your vehicle in the list? Then a vehicle may have a technical problem causing the information to be incorrectly sent to your smartphone. If you encounter a problem, feel free to let us know! Use the ‘Give feedback’ button in the app for this.

Bluetooth, mobile internet connection, sharing your location

The 'Follow your trip' feature in our app works thanks to beacons on our vehicles. These exchange information in real time – via bluetooth – with your smartphone. This feature can only work if you turn on your bluetooth. This technology (Bluetooth Low Energy) uses very little battery.

In addition, an active mobile internet connection is needed to allow your smartphone to ‘communicate’ with De Lijn’s systems.

Are you also using the stop alert? Then you must also share your location with us.
