The Municipality card is an example of a so-called third-party payment agreement.
To encourage the use of public transport, municipalities can make a third-party payer agreement with De Lijn. This means that the municipality pays all or part of the cost of public transport. As a result, people can then travel more cheaply or sometimes even for free by bus or tram.
You can use the Municipal card for trips when you board and get out in the municipality concerned. The Municipal card can only be purchased at our advance sales points.
