You are required to scan your MOBIB card whenever you get on. Hold the card in front of the blue circle at the bottom of the yellow scanner on the bus or tram. You can carry on into the vehicle if a tick appears on a green field on the screen.
If you travel with a national public transport discount card, you don’t need to scan your card. All other passengers are required to scan their MOBIB card when they board.
What if a red cross appears? Check on the MOBIB scanner to see if your season ticket is still valid. To do this, press the blue Info key or try another MOBIB scanner.
What if the scanner shows that your season ticket is still valid or nothing appears on the screen? This may mean that your MOBIB card is defective. What should I do then?
A valid ticket is required. If your card can’t be validated, you must therefore purchase another ticket. If your season ticket is still valid, you can inform our customer service.
Tickets will only be refunded if there is a technical failure at De Lijn or if a purchased product has not been charged correctly.
