Start by holding your MOBIB card in front of the scanner long enough to determine whether the card is indeed faulty.
Do many travellers experience this problem?
Maybe the MOBIB scanner is faulty. Try another MOBIB scanner first. If the card still won’t scan then talk to the driver.
Is a red cross only displayed with your card?
First check the validity of your travel pass with the blue Info button on the MOBIB scanner. If your travel pass has expired it will no longer be displayed on your card.
Is your travel pass still valid? Then your MOBIB card may be faulty. Check your options when your MOBIB card is faulty
Travelling with a valid ticket is mandatory. If you don't succeed in validating your card this means you must buy another type of ticket. Tickets will only be refunded if there is a technical failure at De Lijn or if a purchased product has not been charged correctly.
