How long is a ticket valid ?

An activated ticket purchased from De Lijn shows the following information:

  • the time limit until which the ticket is valid
  • on the detail page:
    • a QR code that the inspector can use to check whether you have a valid ticket
    • the surname and first name for the account from which you purchased your ticket. These must be exactly as shown on your identity card
    • the time of activation
    • the use by date
    • the price

From 3 November 2021, tickets will be linked to your account. Lijn inspectors will therefore check these points. If there's a technical problem, they may also ask for your surname and first name in order to look up your ticket in our system.
