You can avoid a fine by purchasing a valid ticket in time. This can be done in the following ways:

• Buy a ticket at a Lijnwinkel store, a ticket machine or another sales point. Scan your ticket whenever you board or change vehicle at a scanner near the driver or further down the vehicle.
• Buy an SMS ticket or m-ticket: This ticket is valid for 60 minutes. Buy or activate it just before you board. Show it to the driver.
• Show a ticket or pass registered in your name: A season ticket, for example. You must always be able to prove your identity.
• Show a ticket with a discount: You must also have your proof of identity and your discount card with you.

Note

Keep your ticket for the entire journey so that you can show it if there is a ticket inspection.
