You use your MOBIB card in 2 simple steps:
- Scan your card every time you board and with every transfer: wave your card in front of the blue circle at the bottom of the scanner. Using the card for the first time? Hold it in front of the scanner for slightly longer.
- A check mark is displayed as soon as the MOBIB scanner recognises your card. This means your travel pass has been validated. Only then can you pass. You don't have to scan your card again when you get off.
Attention
Is the MOBIB card kept in a case together with other cards or your mobile phone? This can interfere with the scanning, so take the card out of the case to scan it.
Is a red cross displayed? First check the validity of your travel pass with the blue Info button on the MOBIB scanner or try another MOBIB scanner.
Is your travel pass still valid? Then your MOBIB card may be faulty. What do I do if my MOBIB card is faulty?
Travelling with a valid ticket is mandatory. If you don't succeed in validating your card this means you must buy another type of ticket. If your travel pass is still valid you can report the problem to our customer service and request a refund of the tickets you bought.
